More than half of Pashtuns are Tuko-Mongol descendents, Ghilzai, and you are most likely one of those Ghilzai. Ability to grow beard is no defining criteria. Abdul Ali Mazari Mongol had a full beard. In the north Ubeks have not been in power since the 19th century, and since Dostum took power they grew somewhat in stature, but they have been defeated in their attempts to expand beyond Juzjan. Tajiks are ppl of the land, civil institutions, commerce, arts, &Jihad. They are not nomadic tribals.

Yes - it is weird to you tribalists whom see the world in your ethnic and tribal terms...this is not surprising as this is the view the concept of Afghanistan encourages and has been the ruin of that land. The British and Russians gave tribal names to all the territories they wanted to have control and influence over, and to disunity and increase the tribalism.

I am a Dari speaking pashtun. I was living in northern afghanistan my entire life. What i observed was that Tajiks are not people of fight but people of bussiness and office. Uzbiks were officially rulling them. Not to mension their so called leader Ahmad shah was not a tajik but mongul decendence, you could clearly see it in his facial feature. As tajiks grow full beard like other arian groups, masoud had only few like monguls.

Smashing Uzbeks in the north was a Tajik affair - done so by the Tajiks electing Dost Mohamad as Amir and many years later electing Abdur Rahman Khan as Amir - they united that land and centralised it. They also smashed Ghilzai Pashtuns and Hazaras. It was a Sunni Persian - Khurasan - phenomena. The British gave the name Afghanistan to that land - and it has been interpreted by you Pashtun tribalists as a legitimizer to Pashtunize the state. Afghanistan is unislamic and illegitimate.

Not exactly. Modern Persian is a mix of Middle Persian (Pahlavi) and Sogdian language. It developed when many Persians fled Iran into Central Asia. Modern Persian was born in Central Asia and was fully established there by the 8th century.
