If it would end up creating economic expansion, it would take quite some time, as all the major car companies would be under some dire circumstances. I do not think OPEC and companies of the like would go down without a fight either.

@Lisztman88 free energy would naturally have an effect on the energy industry, but that would open up a new industry of energy converters etc. other industries would be liberated from manufacturing cost resulting in reinvesting back into the economy. every family in the country would have hundreds of extra dollars per month. i think it would lead to extraordinary economic expansion.
