So long as they calculate the aerodynamics right then as far as I can see the only thing that can go wrong is the wheels basicaly exploding with the angular velocity - but I am sure those will be tested to 10,000 rpm and higher

I love Andy Green's comment-"the driver could become disorientated and even black out but apart from that it should be easy"lol

beacuse of the pressure of the air at that speed and due to its form it will stick to the floor. like what a spoiler makes to a car. Thats what i think although it might be risky to go 1000mph...

@goodpersianboyuk it will still stick on the ground... you know the Thrust SSC "A MORE MUCH FASTER THAN THIS CAR" still sticks to the ground even though it reached the speed of sound or even beat it...coz it has sonic booms and breaks the speed barrier...

By: Moonesi. on 30 Oct 09, 02:01:11
But apart from that, it should be fairly easy! Brilliant.
By: SirSkidPlank. on 24 Oct 09, 02:02:48
i hope that car has good brakes

Ya know it kinda reminds me of when NASA was testing pilots on A cart mounted on oversized railroad tracks, with a seat and enough horsepower (rockets) to project the cart down the track at great speeds,, forget his name but when the cart stopped , Ole boys Eye balls were resting on his cheeks! and he didnt have a car body around him, its pretty sick to see, I like a good thrill, but I really dont think I would've strapped myself in that seat ...

Here we go again, same old USA v UK crap. When you Americans can break land and water speed records for fun as we do then, and only then, can you criticize. We`ve been doing it for decades - remember Cobb, Sir Malcom Campbell, Donald Campbell, Richard Noble & Andy Green. We STILL hold those records so shut up.

its hardly considered a car. its a slim piece of metal with a rocket on the back. i wonder what would happen if you face that thing on a straight up track that ends 2 miles high. would probably go like halfway to the moon.

"Driving this car from the driver's point of view, he will be cooked, vibrated, aucustically defined, and subject to the sort of G-Force that will massively disorientate him and possibly make him black out, BUT APART FROM THAT IT SHOULD BE FAIRLY EASY" WTF 1:26-1:39

I say once they're done with it, they should strap that motor to a chair, slap it on a rail road strip, and put it to the max!
By: 1050mph. on 20 Aug 09, 16:03:39
We are just finishing off the design of the car, looking at swapping the rocket and jet around. We will start building in the autumn. JT
